Mt. Saint Helen's Rescue Formed in 2007, The Mt. Saint Helen's Rescue group was established in order to protect fish, forests and wildlife. Ensuring that future generations will be able to utilize the natural resources of our area.
In early 2008, The Mt. Saint Helen's Rescue group along with local sponsors and volunteers, worked to feed starving elk in the Toutle River Valley. Over a month long period the group was able to deliver several tons of Alfalfa to the herd of elk. Click here to read the KATU news story.
Another issue of concern to the Mt. Saint Helen's Rescue group is the threat of the Mt. Saint Helens National Monument becoming a National Park. This would mean that all hunting and some recreational activities would be eliminated and that there would be increased park fees to be able to enter the area. Currently there is a group of concerned citizens, special interest groups and politicians that meet monthly to form the Mt. Saint Helen's Advisory Committee.

Mt. Saint Helen's Rescue continues to bring public awareness to the issues threatening the habitat and recreation of Mt. Saint Helens through various community events. Most recently they participated with a float at the Hazel Dell Parade and will be at the Amboy Territorial Days to pass out literature about the group. Mt. Saint Helen's Rescue is a non-profit group formed completely by volunteers and funded through sponsorships and donations. If you would like to get involved and/or donate to this group, please contact Bruce Barnes at
